The days leading up to Christmas featured a heck of an ice storm and a couple days of cold temperatures.  I fared the temperatures a little better this time, unhooking the sewer hose altogether…

Christmas was uneventful. I did get a terrific gift from my sister — a book featuring sightseeing on a state-by-state basis.  I look forward to using it.

My gift to myself was doing absolutely nothing except watch movies all day.  A good day.  I went to a theater in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and then returned and rented a couple Red Box movies.  I discovered that, for only 30 cents more, I could rent blu-ray editions.  Blu-rays are generally quite a bit more expensive than regular DVD when you buy them, but I can certainly handle a quarter extra when I do rent them.  It’s particularly fun for horror flicks.

My other gift to myself was repairing my door.  More on that after I add the finishing touches to it.  For now, just a few images of the reconstruction by Mick…

That ice is just incredible. I can handle snow a lot better than I could the ice. Watching movies is a good way to spend a day be it Christmas or any other day. Hope you have a Happy New Year and the weather warms up a little bit for you.

Brrrr! That ice looks nasty. Hope the door fix works as planned. I know you’ve wanted to get that done for some time. Hope you have a wonderful new year.
