Despite suffering from a bit of insomnia the first few days, I’m settling in quite nicely in Las Vegas.

The campground has been outstanding.  I rolled out the “lawn” behind my picnic table under the shade tree.  Jeepers loves our back yard.  I also recently discovered the clubhouse has satellite TV and I had a lovely time the other day watching the St. Louis Cardinals sweep a double-header from the world champion San Francisco Giants on the big screen.  My Cardinals have an unbelievable pitching staff and own the best record in baseball!

But I haven’t been able to spend much time here.  In order to pay my last hospital bill in time, I’m in all likelihood going to have to rely on playing poker to make up the difference.  So, when I’m “running good” I really need to play.  And I’m running good right now.  So, last night I worked from 2-10 and then played poker until about 1 am.  I’ll see if I have enough stamina to do the same thing tonight.

I love my shift at the WSOP.  It’s the easiest and probably the busiest.  I’m way ahead of last year’s schedule and look forward to my first real paycheck in a couple weeks.  I’m saving a fortune on groceries because I eat both lunch and dinner there.  And it allows me to play poker during optimal times and supplement my income.

I suppose my one disappointment so far is not being able to spend time on my projects yet.  As the World Series breaks attendance records, I suspect some 6-day workweeks in my near future.  And with the added bonus of winning poker — there’s no time available.  It’s all good either way.  If I continue to win I’ll remedy the finances short-term.  If things slow down, I can work on my long-term possibilities.

Just going with the flow and seeing where the next day takes me…

I think that fixing the financial end of things is a great way to start. Even if it involved many hours. It will be such a relief when those medical bills are taken care of. Glad you’re enjoying the campground. We’re in Colorado Springs (well kind of). Really nice RV park but it’s about 15 to 20 miles from town. Nice and quiet.

Very nice. I’m going to look for pictures on your blog soon! I hope to get more “rural” again on the way to Kansas. But I certainly couldn’t ask for more at an “urban” resort — very pleased.

Sounds like things are going your way for a change. Hope it continues until you are above board. Take what you can get when it comes your way. Good luck!
