No time for sightseeing, yet.  My first phase of reorganizing has been overwhelming, but also fun.  I’ve rediscovered some pretty neat resources, some of which I’ve long-since forgotten, and many of which I’ll probably introduce on a new feature page in the near future.

One of my favorites is EventCrazy.  Now, whenever I land in a new city, I can type in my venue and length of stay — then EventCrazy will spit out a bunch of upcoming events in the area.  Incredibly, when I typed in Phoenix from now until October 10th, it listed 43 events!  Now that’s pretty cool.  I find this site way more informative than the typical visitor bureaus sites and plan to use it quite a bit in the future.

I’m also reorganizing some work resource sites.  I’ve been studying my finances quite a bit and playing poker has been profitable but slightly below par.  I’ve been available as a full-time player in March, part of July, and August and have made a consisitent profit, but just not quite enough.

In other words, when I’m in a place where I can play poker, I’m fine.  I make enough to pay my expenses and make some small purchases.  But it’s not quite enough to give me the cushion I need to enjoy leisure time at non-poker venues.  At the pace I’m going now, I’d continue to fall behind in my savings little by little.  If I don’t find the cushion I need by the end of the month, I’ll definitely be consulting these resources to figure out how to make them work without interfering with poker.

(Sigh).  If only on-line poker were still around I could just sit around and play anywhere in the country and make money in my PJ’s!  The good news is, internet poker is on it’s way back — probably within 2 years.

Well, despite having to postpone my day of leisure, I will certainly enjoy my evening off from playing poker.  The Cowboys and Giants play in just 1 hour and 39 minutes!
